The Crompton Arno Neo comes with an incoloy heating element. Incoloy is an alloy consisting of nickel, iron and chromium, with smaller amounts of aluminum & titanium. It offers excellent corrosion resistance and thermal stability. Further, inside the tank, there is a sacrificial magnesium anode rod with stainless steel core to protect the insides for the tank from corroding. What it essentially does is react with water and rusts faster so that the stainless steel in the tank doesn’t have to give up the electrons and rust. Thus, the stainless steel in the tank stays corrosion-free till the anode rod rusts away. This anode rod usually needs to be replaced after 3-4 years.
